My Journey

Hello, my name is Tazeen, and I am proud to share my learning journey through this digital portfolio. This portfolio reflects my exploration of Indigenous culture, history, and sacred connections to nature, as well as my reflections on identity, knowledge, and community. It combines visual imagery, music, and creative expression to showcase the depth of what I have learned and experienced throughout this course.

My interest in Indigenous history began in a very personal way. The first time I truly engaged with their culture was at my son’s middle school, where I saw a live performance of Indigenous dance and music. I was thrilled by the beauty and energy, and I felt drawn to learn more. Later, I attended another live performance in Calgary, which deepened my curiosity.

Through my studies, I have conducted research to better understand Indigenous history and contemporary issues. My learning also extended to writing; I have published articles on LinkedIn about Indigenous women who are missing in Canada, sharing their stories to raise awareness. These experiences have strengthened my appreciation for Indigenous resilience and the importance of preserving and honoring their culture.
